How VerifiedPricing checks SaaS pricing
What the free preview looks at
The preview fetches one pricing page on the domain you enter and reports signals that affect how pricing can be quoted. It does not store the page, write any fact, or change a record. These are signals from one fetch of your page. They do not show what any assistant has read, stored or will say.
We fetch with the VerifiedPricingPreview user agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; VerifiedPricingPreview/1.0; +https://verifiedpricing.com/methodology#preview)Anyone can run this preview for any domain. The domain owner did not request or approve it.
Each preview is started by a person, not run on a schedule. It reads robots.txt to report the rules for named crawlers and does not apply those rules to its own requests.
Finding the page. When no address is entered, the preview tries the pricing page address already held for the domain, then /pricing, then /plans, then a pricing or plans link on the home page, at most four addresses. It follows up to three redirects, only within the same domain and never from https to http.
- Pricing page response
- Looks atThe status and content type our fetcher received for the page.Cannot seeWhat other visitors, networks or crawlers receive. A firewall or CDN may answer them differently.
- robots.txt rules for named crawlers
- Looks atThe rules in robots.txt for eleven named crawlers and control tokens, matched to this page's path under RFC 9309.Cannot seeWhether a crawler follows those rules, or whether a firewall or CDN lets it through.
- Prices in the page HTML
- Looks atPrice mentions in the page text our fetcher received, without running scripts.Cannot seePrices drawn by scripts after the page loads, or prices behind a login.
- Structured pricing data
- Looks atSchema.org Offer markup with a price, in JSON-LD or microdata.Cannot seeHow any product uses that markup. This preview does not know whether any assistant uses Offer markup.
- Currency next to prices
- Looks atWhether prices carry an ISO currency code or a symbol with one meaning.Cannot seeCurrency shown only in images or chosen by a visitor's location.
- Billing period next to prices
- Looks atEnglish billing period phrases within 80 characters of a price.Cannot seePeriods stated in other languages, in images or in a plan toggle our fetcher did not trigger.
- Indexing and snippet signals
- Looks atnoindex, nosnippet and max-snippet directives in robots meta tags and the X-Robots-Tag header, and prices inside data-nosnippet elements.Cannot seeWhether a search engine has indexed the page.
Crawler rows for training and user actions are shown for information and never change a result. Purposes are in each vendor's own words. Google-Extended is a control token, not a crawler: robots.txt permits or refuses use of a page under it, and it never fetches pages.
robots.txt redirects. The preview follows up to five robots.txt redirects within the same domain. A robots.txt that redirects to another domain is not followed and is reported as not answering our fetcher, which RFC 9309 treats as disallowing every page. This is stricter than RFC 9309, which lets crawlers follow such a redirect.
Machine read. When it is available, the preview also reads plans and prices from the page text automatically. Those values are labelled Machine-read, not verified: a person has not checked them, and they never become part of a record.
Results are reused for 24 hours (10 minutes when the page did not answer), are shareable by link, and are deleted after 30 days.
What a person checks for a verified record
A verified pricing record costs €99 or $99, one time. Prices exclude VAT where it applies. A person checks every plan, price, currency, billing period, unit and region against your pricing page. Each fact is recorded with its source address, capture time, scope and region, then marked checked. Facts for plans no longer on the page are retired, and extracted facts are never published without that check. The flagship plan is the one plan on your pricing page whose price leads the record; the person checking the page chooses it. If no flagship plan price can be checked against your page, no record is published and your order is cancelled.
What a record carries
Every checked fact keeps its evidence attached. Missing information is shown as missing, never as zero.
Evidence attached to every fact
- Source
- The first-party page the fact was checked against.
- Observed
- Date and time the source was captured, in UTC.
- Scope
- Plan, unit and billing period the fact applies to.
- Region
- Market and currency covered by the fact.
- Status
- Checked, with the check date, or not observed. A fact that needs review or was retired is not shown as checked.
- Previous
- Earlier versions, kept with their dates when a fact is superseded.

A price is never shown without its currency, billing period, unit and region. Monthly and annual prices are separate facts.
What verified does not mean
Verified is not live pricing and not a guarantee. It does not mean the price is the lowest available, that no other fees apply, that the terms suit your contract, or that VerifiedPricing endorses the product. A paid check buys a check of every plan at the time of the order, not a say over what the record states. Confirm final pricing, taxes, discounts, eligibility and contract terms with the vendor before purchase.
Missing or ambiguous facts
A fact that has not been checked against its source stays not observed. A missing value never becomes zero or free, and an inferred number is never shown as checked. If a fact can no longer be checked against its source, it is marked for review or retired and is no longer shown as checked.
Updates and supersession
When a new check finds a different fact, a new version is published and the earlier one is superseded, not edited in place. Both versions keep their dates. When your pricing changes, you can order a new check. The new fact supersedes the old one and the history stays visible. Every superseded fact appears in the pricing changes log. A record reflects its check dates only; nothing updates it automatically.
Corrections and removal
Anyone can report a correction for free, with the source, scope, region and what changed. A report fixes the fact it names when reviewed; a paid check covers every plan at the time of the order. Reports are checked against the cited source before a record changes. A company can use the same form to ask for a record about its own product to be removed. Removal requests are reviewed, and history is not rewritten silently.
AI pricing accuracy reports and QuotedWrong
The report shows what sampled assistants say about your pricing, where those answers do not match the first-party page, and prioritized advisory fixes with draft correction briefs. A person reviews a dated sample of answers. Future answers may differ. Suggested changes and correction briefs are advisory.
QuotedWrong and VerifiedPricing share one fact store and do different jobs. QuotedWrong samples what AI assistants say about a company's pricing through provider APIs and shows where those answers differ from first-party facts. VerifiedPricing publishes checked, dated facts. A record does not change what an assistant answers, and QuotedWrong does not publish records.
Questions
- Does verified mean the price is current right now?
- No. It means the source was checked at the time shown. A company can change its pricing after that check, so every fact shows its observed date.
- Who checks the facts?
- A person checks each fact against the cited source before it is marked checked. The free preview and its machine read are not checks.
- What does a verified record cost?
- A verified pricing record costs €99 or $99, one time. Prices exclude VAT where it applies. The preview and correction reports are free.
- Can a company pay to change or remove a record?
- No. A paid check covers every plan at the time of the order, and a record changes only when its cited source supports the change.
- Why do some facts say not observed?
- The record has no checked fact for them yet. The source may not state them, or they have not been checked. Showing a fact as missing is more accurate than guessing it.
